Dr. Jesse Tyrone Alston; Husband, Father, Pastor and Friend!

Pastor Jesse Tyrone Alston is the son of Pastor Jesse and Janice Alston of Cameron Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Durham NC. He is the great grandson of Pastor Joe Brooks who was the founder and pastor of his home church, Jones Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Hillsborough NC. During his tenure at Jones Grove he was licensed and ordained under the guidance, direction and tutelage of his formal pastor Dr. TC Nicholson (deceased).

Pastor Alston is married to the former Ms. Janice Lynette Daye of Durham NC. He met Janice standing on the church grounds of Cameron Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where his father currently pastors, over 37 years ago. To this union God has blessed them with five beautiful children; Tyron, Jazmyn, Jesse, Jeremiah and Jesseka.

Pastor Alston is the pastor of Kimes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Mebane NC where he has served as Senior Pastor for the past 26 years. Under God’s leadership, Pastor Alston has baptized many new believers and has reached many people for Christ. Over the past 27 years, Pastor Alston has been evangelizing, teaching and preaching God’s Word to God’s people. He has enjoyed spreading God’s love for mankind through, his first love singing, ever since he was 5 years old. During his tenure at Kimes Chapel, Pastor Alston has implemented many different ministries for all ages, such as Camp Risen Son and he is the founder of Laudhim Ministries 7 INC and The Five Singing Preachers LLC.

Pastor Alston matriculated from Eastern Alamance High School and went on to further his education at Saint Augustine’s University and Newburgh Theological Seminary College, where he received his Doctorate of Divinity. He retired from Durham Public Schools March of 2022 and is now the Dean of Admissions at Ezekiel Institute of Ministry Bible College.

Pastor Alston’s Mission is “to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to live a Holy, healthy, and prosperous life before God and man and to reach as many people as he can with this gospel knowing that in it contains salvation, deliverance, joy, peace, and life itself. It is his heart’s desire for all people that they might be saved. In an effort to reach others he will do all he can to spread this good news.”

One of Pastor Alston’s favorite scriptures is: 2nd Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Pastor Alston’s motto is: “God First!”

• Received the Omega Psi Phi Man of the Year Award 2017
• Received the Light 103.9 Pastor of the Month, September
• Received the President’s Life Time Achievement Award and Pin from President Joe Biden – November 6, 2022
• Was honored by his hometown of Mebane with a proclamation declaring September 13 as Dr. Jesse Tyrone Alston Day – November 6, 2022
• Recorded CD for the Youth Gospel Explosion 2009 –Lead Vocalist on “Faith”
• Licensed Three Ministers (Stanley Farrington, Barrett Liles and Hilda Wilson)
• Installed the first women Trustees in our church history. ( Nicole Alston, Teresa McPherson and Sonya Watson)
• Baptized over 100 new converts.
• More than 150 people have given their lives to Christ under the Ministry God has given me.
